Our hospital, laboratories, diagnostic facilities and pharmacies remain OPEN to provide best possible care and services to our patients.

COVID-19 is the biggest pandemic challenge the world has experienced in the past few decades. We are all witnessing international attempts to limit the spread of COVID-19. Prolonged outbreaks can lead to the progressive spread of disease with increasing service demands that overwhelm the capacity of hospitals.

SCH is continues to enhance the readiness of the health facilities to cope with the challenges of the outbreak.

• What is COVID-19.

  COVID-19 is caused by the SARS CoV-2 Virus. It is spread through droplets released when a person coughs or sneezes.

  It results in a mild to moderate respiratory infection, however, it may lead to severe pneumonia, organ failure and can be fatal, especially in the elderly or those who suffer from chronic diseases or are immunocompromised.

• How to protect yourself from getting COVID-19 infection.

  Wash your hands frequently with soap, particularly after coughing or sneezing.
  Cough or sneeze in a tissue or your elbow. Do not re-use tissues and discard them safely in a dustbin.
  Refrain from touching your mouth, eyes and nose.
  Maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet from other people; stay home.
  If you have a cold or flu symptoms or are outside with other people around you, wear a surgical mask.

• If you feel sick with COVID-19 symptoms of cough, fever and difficulty in breathing.

  If symptoms are mild, immediately self-quarantine at home.
  
  If symptoms are moderate call SCH and seek assistance from our health care professionals.
  
  In case of severe symptoms, consult a doctor and rush to ER.

  ER is OPEN 24/7 to care for patients. You need to call to check for available space. When our capacity is fully utilized, we will guide you to another hospital. ER with minor OT and triage area also has examination rooms and X-ray facility for initial assessment of patients.

• If you want to get tested for COVID-19

  Please call-in to our separate and dedicated testing area for COVID-19 for a PCR test.

• Our dedicated Isolation Ward facilities

  This is a new purpose-built facility for patients with transmissible infectious diseases incorporating negative pressure spaces.
  Designed to provide best possible care to COVID-19 patients while minimizing cross contamination to other patients and staff.

  A dedicated x-ray machine, ultrasound machine, CT scan, and echocardiography machine is available for use of the patients in isolation ward. Specific disinfection protocols are strictly adhered to. Surgical procedures and obstetric facilities are provided within the isolation unit if required. Showers and Toilets are be contained within the isolation area.

  Patients once admitted will not be allowed attendants or visitors. Communication with relatives is through teleconferencing.

  Mobile phone is not allowed inside. One hospital phone in a plastic bag is available for communication.

  Patients admitted to this unit are only be allowed outside upon demonstrating recovery on two PCR tests being negative (24 hrs apart) or being transferred to another health care facility in a sealed stretcher with covering. In case of demise of patient, the body will be shown on camera, identified, wrapped and prepared as per COVID-19 protocol and handed over to the relatives.

  Food and medicines are transported outside this unit through double windows in plastic containers, washed when crossing first window. Patients fruit and food is brought in disposable containers. Small pantry for patients’ cereals, milk and tea is provided.

  SCH doctors, nurses and staff strictly adhere to the personal protective equipment protocols applicable to their work.
